Cook Memorial Public Library District is seeking a responsible, team-minded individual for a part-time Maintenance Associate position at our Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills and one evening shift at our Cook Park Library location. Our ideal candidate is equally adept at providing customer service and able to work independently. This is a permanent, year-round position. 

HOURS: 
Three evenings per week: 5 – 9 pm, and alternating weekends.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Maintaining cleanliness of building and grounds.
•    Performing light and routine maintenance work.
•    Delivering materials between our two locations.
•    Daily room set-ups for library events.
•    Seasonal duties such as snow removal and plant watering.
•    Building security.

REQUIREMENTS:
•    Able to lift 50 pounds, have the agility to use ladders, and get on and off roofs.
•    Able to read and understand equipment manuals.
•    Familiarity with tools, plumbing, painting, and cleaning techniques.
•    Able to easily communicate in English.
•    Basic computer skills.
•    Requires occasionally covering additional shifts at both our Cook Park Library and Aspen Drive Library locations.
•    Must have own transportation, valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
•    High School Graduate/GED.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: 
 $19 per hour. Paid vacation and sick time. Premium pay on Sundays. Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, optional 457 savings plan, and dental and vision insurance. Yearly cost of living and merit increases.
