Do you enjoy planning programs or events for adults? Do you have strong organizational skills?  The Cook Memorial Public Library District is looking for a very detailed, enthusiastic, flexible, collaborative person to coordinate and plan adult programming for the Library District.

Hours:

·       Full Time 37.5 hours per week.  Daytime, evening and weekend hours required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Responsible for planning and providing exciting, engaging, and enriching adult programs at both library locations.

·       Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with community partners and library organizations in promoting library programs and services.

·       Contributes programming-related content to the Communications Coordinator for the library newsletter.

·       Oversees adult programming budget. 

·       Coordinates closely with other library staff, taking the lead to ensure a full slate of complementary programs and services.

·       Exercises discretion and independent judgement when working Library programs and event.

Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s Degree.

·       One or more years’ experience in adult program coordination or event planning. Experience in a public library or similar setting preferred.

·       Must be able to work required hours, work at both Library locations and other offsite venues.

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·       Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

·       Technology aptitude, including proficiency in MS Software products including Teams, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and MS 365.  Proficiency in running Zoom Webinar and Meeting platforms. 

Salary & Benefits:

Expected salary hiring range $47,000-50,000 annual, DOQ. Excellent benefits including IMRF pension, 457(b) plan, health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Paid vacation, sick, and scheduled holidays. Paid parental leave. Cost of living adjustments and merit increases.
